Overview
GoPlaneGo helps aviation enthusiasts discover nearby aircraft, record check-ins, collect stamps, and track their spotting activity. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the GoPlaneGo mobile app and website.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, username, profile details, social preferences, and identifiers supplied when you sign in with Google or Apple.
- Location information: precise or approximate location while you use location-based features. Location helps show nearby flights and validate check-ins. A check-in may retain a location snapshot associated with that activity. When you host a live spotting session, we round a fresh GPS reading into an approximate shared radar area before storing or showing it to participants. Live-session records store and show only the rounded shared area, not the original precise host coordinate.
- Activity and content: check-ins, stamps, aircraft and airport selections, social connections, leaderboard choices, notification settings, and feedback you choose to submit.
- Device and diagnostics: device platform, app version, time zone, push-notification token, IP address, and basic logs used to keep the service secure and reliable.
- Website waitlist: email address, country, and submission metadata when you join the GoPlaneGo waitlist.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide nearby-flight, check-in, stamp, profile, and social features;
- authenticate accounts and sync activity across devices;
- deliver notifications you enable;
- calculate progress, activity summaries, and social rankings;
- prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve GoPlaneGo; and
- communicate about the service, support requests, and launch updates.
Service providers
We share information only as needed with companies that help operate GoPlaneGo, such as Apple and Google for sign-in; Mapbox for maps; Expo and platform providers for notifications; and hosting, database, and aviation-data providers. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, GoPlaneGo, or the public.
We do not sell personal information.
Subscriptions and advertising
When subscriptions are available, Apple or Google processes your payment. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases, renewals, refunds, and restoration. We share a randomly assigned account identifier and purchase information with RevenueCat so benefits can follow your GoPlaneGo account. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
When ads are enabled, Google AdMob provides banner ads and optional rewarded videos. We request non-personalized ads and do not send your precise location, profile, flight activity, or spotting history to AdMob for targeting. Google may process device information, IP address, ad interactions, and consent choices to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Reward verification uses a one-time identifier to credit the temporary benefit to your account.
On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency permission before requesting ad consent or starting ads. You can deny tracking and continue using GoPlaneGo, and you can change that permission in iOS Settings. Where required, you can also review ad consent before ads are requested and reopen ad privacy choices in Profile settings. Paid Ad-Free plans remove banner ads; rewarded videos remain optional. See Google advertising information, RevenueCat privacy information, and our subscription terms.
Your choices
- You can grant or revoke location and notification permissions in your device settings.
- You can adjust notification preferences, profile visibility, and leaderboard participation in the app.
- The Mapbox attribution control shown on each map provides map provider information and a choice about participating in Mapbox telemetry.
- You can delete your account and spotting data in the app under Profile > Delete Account & Data. Contact us for access or correction requests. See our account deletion instructions for retention details.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide GoPlaneGo, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Children
GoPlaneGo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GoPlaneGo changes. We will post the updated policy here and revise the date above.
